Week 6

Week 6

Buffalo at Detroit – There is a good thing that the Detroit Tigers are playing well. Detroit is one of the 4 teams who have yet to win a game. Chalk up another ‘L’ this week. Kitna had a problem with interceptions against a suspect Vikings defense. If he has the same luck against Buffalo’s defense, Lion fans will turn off the tube and get ready to watch some baseball later on that evening.

Carolina at Baltimore – Since the return of Steve Smith, Carolina has been on a roll. Look for the Panthers to continue their streak against the Ravens. The Ravens luck finally ran out in their loss to the Broncos last week. Despite their 4-1 record, the Ravens have not looked like a quality team all season. Carolina will expose this once again come Sunday.s

Cincinnati at Tampa Bay – Admittedly, QB Gradkowski had a pretty good day against the Saints last week. He threw for 225 yards with 2 touchdowns. But Tampa Bay (0-4) will need more than his arm and Galloway’s hands to win this game. Cadillac Williams needs to show up this season. Cincinnati is coming off of a bye week.

Houston at Dallas – The battle of Texas! But is this really a battle? Even with Dreadsoe playing horribly this season, Houston’s defense does not have what it takes to contain this Cowboys’ team. Houston still has its issues at the RB position. If they can’t control the clock, their exhausted defense will give up big plays to Cancer, Julius, and Terry Glenn.

N.Y. Giants at Atlanta – Upset of the week! That bye week definitely helped the Giants in their win over the Redskins last Sunday. Now it’s their turn to play a rested team. A rested Vick can definitely hurt you. The Giants secondary will have their hands full trying to cover Jenkins and Lelie, and a healthy TE Crumpler. Vick will get his on the ground and in the air. Dunn will outrush Tiki this week.

Philadelphia at New Orleans – After beating up on Dallas last week, the Eagles will have a little bit of a breather this week. The Saints struggled to beat Tampa Bay last week. They have to change their game plan if they think they are going to luck out a win over this Eagles team. Bush had his first touchdown of the season with a 65-yard punt return. I hope he took a picture of the endzone. He might not see it this week.

Seattle at St. Louis – With RB Shaun Alexander still out, Seattle will continue to have problems winning games. Morris is not going to get it done for you on the ground. Without Engram, they will have to look for big plays from Jackson, Branch, and Burleson. Rams’ RB Jackson is currently tied in 1st place for rushing yards. The 4-1 Rams have some ugly W’s in their column. But a win is a win.

Tennessee at Washington – After imploding last week against the Giants, the ‘Skins should have an easy one against the Titans. The Titans gave the Colts a scare last week, but still couldn’t close the deal. With rookies Vince Young and LenDale White being nearly the entire offense, there is no wonder why they have yet to win a game. The Skins need this win to boost morale in the locker room.

Kansas City at Pittsburgh – What is wrong with Spittsburgh? Whatever it is, I hope they got it out of their system. They didn’t manage to score any points in the second half against San Diego last week. The Chiefs are coming into Heinz Field on a 2 game winning streak. The Chiefs actually beat Arizona in the air as opposed to utilizing the run. Is that plausible? I didn’t know KC had an air attack. The Squealers need this game to stay out of the basement of the AFC North.

Miami at N.Y. Jets – Eeny Meeny Miny Mo! Ok, I guess I’m going with the Jets. The Jets were humiliated by the Jaguars by the score of 41-0. Without Barlow, New York looked to rookie RB Leon Washington to lead their rushing attack. He will have to be crafty to run against Miami’s front 7 though. On the other side of the ball, look for QB Joey Harrington to start over the disappointing Culpepper. Nothing will change. New system, same Joey! He still doesn’t have a RB to help him out. Miami loses another.

San Diego at San Francisco – Looks like they are keeping it in Cali. Last week, Niners won over the despicable Oakland Raiders. This week, they will have to contend with a legitimate Californian adversary. Though under the radar, Alex Smith is having a great year. Frank Gore is tied for 1st place in rushing yards for the season. Regardless, the Niners still do not have what it takes to contend with the Chargers. Notice I didn’t mention any San Francisco defensive players.

Oakland at Denver – Will Oakland win a game this season? It won’t come this week. Even though Denver doesn’t look like the best team, they did manage to knock off the Ravens last week. The Broncos’ defense literally picked McNair apart with 3 INTs. Walter will need to bring his A game against the Broncos’ secondary.

Chicago at Arizona – Why is this game on MNF? Chicago (5-0) continues to look like the team to beat. Grossman continues to find the endzone through the air every week. Rookie RB has begun to find his way there on the ground also. Dennis Green decided that the team needs Edge to get more touches on the ground. What is Dennis Green’s email? I’ve only been saying that all season. Too bad they are going to try to run Edge this week against the Bears defense. This will be another loss for the Cards.

Bye Week: Cleveland, Green Bay, Indianapolis, Jacksonville, Minnesota, and New England

Game of the Week: Carolina at Baltimore

Week 5 Picks: 11-3
