Week 3

Arizona at Atlanta – No brainer! Mora’s scheme of trying to keep Vick in the pocket seems to be coming to an end. Vick rushed for over 100 yards against the Rams last week. Arizona just looks like an overpaid high school team. Once again, Emmitt was the only one to get into the end zone.
New Orleans at St. Louis – With Deuce out for a least a month, The Saints are definitely lacking in the backfield. Joe Horn is also probably out this week. This should give the Rams the go ahead win for the week. As long as they can learn to play defense.
Pittsburgh at Miami – With Roethlisberger as the starting QB, Pittsburgh is already an entirely new team. He came out looking good in a losing effort against the Ravens last week. Miami held the Bengals rushing game under 100 yards. Hope they use the same style of play against the Steelers.
Chicago at Minnesota – The Bears played a great game against the Packers last week, beating them 21-10. We had a chance to hear a name we haven’t heard in the last 3 years, Mike Brown. He scored a TD for the defense. The Vikes just couldn’t contain the Eagles last Monday night. They should have no problem with the offensively defunct Bears.
Cleveland at NY Giants – GO BROWNS!!! A multitude of missed calls and errant calls cost the Browns the game last week against the Cowboys. Browns are looking for blood this week. The Giants are coming off of a win over The ‘Skins last week. Their running game was nonexistent. Warner was just proving he still has an arm. Unfortunately, he used up his last wish last week. The genie will return to the bottle from which it came. Probably the same bottle he drinks from before and after games. Browns win, despite the injuries.
Baltimore at Cincinnati – After being blown out by the Browns in week 1, the Ravens came out smoking against the Steelers last week. Even Mr. Loudmouth McAlister took a pick in for a touchdown. Cincy won’t have a chance against their division rival. After the Ravens shuts down the run, look for Ed Reed and McAlister, and dare I say Deion, have their way in the secondary.
Philadelphia at Detroit – Detroit looks like a whole new team this year. Too bad they’ll look like the Detroit of old this week against the Eagles. Despite given up nearly 350 through the air last week, the Eagles still managed to hold the Vikes to 16 points. Don’t look for a 300+ game from Harrington. McNabb should have fun with this Bly-less secondary.
Jacksonville at Tennessee – Implode! The Titans defense imploded in the 4th quarter against the Colts last week. The usual suspects, McNair, Mason, and now Brown led the attack offensively, but the defense just couldn’t seem to keep their edge on Edgerrin in the 4th. Luckily, they won’t have to worry about the rushing game of the Jags.
Houston at Kansas CityQuestion to the Chiefs: What’s a 7-letter word that is associated with stopping the other team from scoring? Need a hint? OK, it rhymes with pretense. Give up? Obviously! KC’s defense is atrocious. The Chiefs must think that the opposing player who is holding the ball has leprosy. Week 1 it was Quentin Griffin. Last week it was DeShaun Foster. Let’s see if they hold Domanick Davis this week.
San Diego at Denver – The Chargers came back to planet Earth last week. Even with an appearance of the scrambling midget, Flutie, the Chargers won’t have enough to stop the weapons of Denver. Yes, the same weapons that were M.I.A last week’s game against the Jags. They played down to their competition. They need to bounce back this week. Mediocre play is unacceptable!
Green Bay at Indianapolis – Last second heroics worked for Peyton once again. Now, if he could only start the game the way he finishes, the Colts would be much better off. The Packers will not drop 2 in a row. After a surprising loss to the Bears, Packs will bounce back to form. Javon Walker had a great game with 7 catches for 102 yards. As long as he helps out Favre, Ahman Green will handle the rest.
San Francisco at Seattle – We may finally get a chance to see rookie WR RaShaun Woods this week. With Brandon Lloyd possibly out with a groin injury, Woods may get a chance to see sometime as the 3rd receiver. Dorsey didn’t look too bad starting last week. Seattle seemed to be in a funk last week. Alexander and company will snap out of that this week. Look for a big game from Hasslebeck.
Tampa Bay at Oakland – This is Oakland’s chance to get revenge from the Super Bowl. Too bad most of the players have traded teams. These teams should know each other inside and out. Advantage: Raiders. They seem to have a better team chemistry as opposed to the Bucs right now. The Bucs have only scored 16 points this season so far, but have given up only 26. Look out Chucky! This is a new Raiders team.
Dallas at Washington – Classic battle of Cowboys and Indians. Even without Arrington, I’m still going with the ‘Skins this week. The Cowboys seem to have had the ‘Skins number over the last decade. Gibbs may be just what the Dr. ordered. Even with an ugly win over the Browns last week, the “Boys just doesn’t look to be the team to beat in the NFC East. With Julius Jones out, this will put the entire load on Eddie George. Vinny will throw another 300+ yards in a losing effort.
