Week 10

Kansas City at New Orleans - No Priest? The Chiefs have been preparing this week without their all-star RB. This means Blaylock needs to step up big time. I hope RB Larry Johnson doesn't have an allergic reaction to the pigskin, since it has been so long since they have let him touch the ball. The Saints were simply outplayed by the Chargers last week. They'll need big plays from Deuce and Aaron Brooks this week if they plan on beating the Chiefs.

Baltimore at NY Jets - The Jets have been playing so well this year. The only thing that could interrupt their success is an injury to a key player. Well, that's what happened. With QB Pennington out for the next 2-4 weeks, ex-Cowboy Quincy Carter is likely to start this week. Quincy is being thrown to the wolves. The tenacity of the Ravens defense may be a little too much for Quincy. I hope he has established some kind of chemistry between himself and the receivers during the week. If not, it's going to be a long game.

Detroit at Jacksonville - Jacksonville is another team without its starting quarterback, Byron Leftwich. David Garrard gets the nod to start this week. Detroit could not establish a running game against the 'Skins last week. With WR Williams still hobbled with a bum ankle, Hakim ended up with 120 yards on only 7 catches. Detroit should have a field day with the receivers close to full strength.

Tampa Bay at Atlanta - The Bucs outlasted the Chiefs last week 34-31. On only 15 carries, Michael Pittman had his best game of the season scoring 3 TDs with 128 rushing yards. If Griese continues to control the offense the way he has been, Brad Johnson may find himself competing with Pam Oliver and Bonnie Bernstein for a job next year.

Pittsburgh at Cleveland - GO BROWNS!! Can Davis slay the giant? The Steelers are playing great football right now. In the last two weeks, they have defeated 2 undefeated teams. Now they have to come into the Dawg Pound. The Bus is probably all busted up this week after running all over the Eagles last week. Duce is unlikely to play again this week. The Browns receivers are also ailing. Look for a big day from Suggs and Green. Where's Quincy Morgan when you need him?

Seattle at St. Louis - The Rams fell for almost every play in a video game playbook last week. The Patriots completely embarrassed them with some of those play calls. LB Mike Vrabel caught a TD while K Vinatieri threw a TD. Mike Martz may need to spend more time playing Madden 2005 to prevent a repeat from last week. The Seahawks appear to be back on track. Shaun Alexander had a big day against the Niners scoring twice on 160 rushing yards. Mark another 'W' for Holmgren this week.

Chicago at Tennessee - A-Train had a great day against the Giants last week. Krenzel had a decent game, but did have a problem holding on to the ball. He needs a little more protection from the O-line. The Titans are injury plagued. Even with a bye, everyone is listed as questionable. Though the Titans seem to beat the teams they are supposed to, this week may be a little different. Without controlling the ball on the ground, the Titans will have a long day.

Houston at Indianapolis - Peyton had nearly a perfect game last week on MNF. He threw 4 TDs on 23-of-29 passing with no interceptions. But it took a last second FG by Vanderjagt to seal their victory over the Vikes. Houston's defense looked deplorable against the Broncos last week. I hope they made some corrections this week, if not, we will watch the same game as last week.

Cincinnati at Washington - UPSET OF THE WEEK! They managed to upset the Cowboys in a convincing fashion last week, beating the 'Boys 26-3. Turnovers were the Cowboys downfall. The 'Skins can't manage to score offensively unless they have their RB kicking, running, and throwing the ball. Washington needs to seriously consider replacing Brunell with Hasselbeck. They tried the "old man" thing, now it's time to start winning games.

Minnesota at Green Bay - Even without their favorite receiver, the Vikes gave the Colts a run for their money. Unfortunately, Moss will not be in the lineup again this week. Culpepper had a mediocre game, but will find the necessary adjustments this week against the Packs. The Packers were banged up in week 8, but had last week to rest and recover. It should be a great game.

NY Giants at Arizona - The Cards snuck in a win against the Dolphins last week. The Cards, believe it or not, are beginning to gel. It is going to take some time for Boldin to become the threat he was last year. As bad as I talk about Emmitt, he continues to find a way to get into the end zone. We saw vintage Kurt Warner last week. He threw 2 INTs and lost 2 fumbles in a losing effort to the Bears. If he loses this game, we may actually get to see Eli earn his paycheck.

Carolina at San Francisco - Whoa! Both teams are 1-7. What more can I say? I'm going with the team who wins the opening coin toss. Actually, the Panthers gave the Raiders a scare last week. Even though, they have no running game whatsoever, they still managed to put some points on the board. The Niners at least have Barlow controlling the ball on the ground. The team who controls the ball and the clock usually wins the game.

Buffalo at New England - This is a classic rivalry. Unfortunately, Dreadsoe and the Bills always seem to come out on the losing end. Look for more of the same. McGahee has been putting up big numbers since being named as the starting RB. He will probably put up big numbers again this week. I wish I could say about the same about Drew. The Pats secondary seem to have Dreadsoe's number. Look for another lopsided victory.

Philadelphia at Dallas - Who would believe that these two teams both only managed to score 3 points last week? Philly fell to the red hot Steelers and the 'Boys fell to the underachieving Bengals. Woe, woe, woe is Tuna! Cowboy fans won't have anything to cheer about in this division rival game. Next to Raider fans, Cowboy fans have to be the most obnoxious fans around. Tied for third, are the J-E-T-S and Browns fans. For Cowboy fans, it'll be a quiet day in the sports bars this week.
