Week 4

Week 4

Arizona at Atlanta - This is a bounce back game for Vick and Co. After being set-up last week in The Big Easy, the Falcons will take their frustrations out on the Cardinals. Cardinals’ defense allows their opponent to score early. This will prove to be to their detriment this week.

Dallas at Tennessee – How many pills constitutes an overdose? “Cancer” just can’t seem to keep his name out of the press. Regardless, if he plays or not, the Cowboys will have an easy one this week. Coming off a bye week, this rested Cowboys team will beat up on the 0-3 Titans. Collins continues to struggle at QB. When will we see Vince? Only time will tell. I’m thinking after the season is tanked at 0-8.

Indianapolis at N.Y. Jets – A naked bootleg? I thought that play only worked on Playstation. Peyton threw a TD and ran one in against this stingy Jacksonville defense. The Jets brought their ‘A’ game to beat Buffalo last week. They’ll have to bring more than that if they want to beat the Colts.

Miami at Houston – Houston sustained another loss at the hands of the Redskins last week. This should be their first win of the season. Andre Johnson continues to improve every week. This may be his breakout game this season. Miami won their first game over the Titans last week. They still continue to look bad. For Daunte to flourish, the Dolphins need to establish a running game. Ronnie Brown is averaging a little over 3 yards a carry.

Minnesota at Buffalo - The Vikings almost pulled it out against the Bears last week. The Vikings continue to struggle offensively. Someone needs to step up if they are going to win any games. McGahee had a huge day on the ground against the Jets. Look for a repeat performance against the Vikes this week.

New Orleans at Carolina – Carolina’s defense allowed the struggling Bucs to score 24 points. John Kasay’s last second FG saved the day for the Panthers last week, with a final score 26-24. The Saints also relied on their kicker to score most of their points. The Saints seem to be a more balanced team than Carolina. Look for them to win, but it won’t be easy.

San Diego at Baltimore – Baltimore also won their game on a last second FG. The Browns seemed to have their number in the first half. The Chargers are coming off a bye week. Philip Rivers will definitely be tested this week. Tomlinson will have to produce against this Ravens defense to give Rivers an inkling of a chance to go deep.

San Francisco
at Kansas City – Trent Green will possibly be out for another 2-3 weeks. Their offense is going to struggle without him. Frank Gore was outplayed by the rookie Michael Robinson last week. This can be a nasty tandem in the backfield. Accompany the running game with Antonio Bryant and a healthy TE Davis, this may be a team to watch in the future.

Detroit at St. Louis – My upset pick of the week. Even though the Lions lost to Green Bay last week, they actually looked like they were ready to start playing football. WR Roy Williams and RB Kevin Jones both had a great day, each scoring TDs. St. Louis squeaked by Arizona with a final score of 16-14. Torry Holt had a big day with 8 catches for 120 yards and 1 TD.

Cleveland at Oakland – GO BROWNS!! As the Browns look for their first win of the season, they continue to show improvements from week to week. As Charlie Frye continues to improve, this team will become even more united. Braylon Edwards and Kellen Winslow continue to make big plays every week. Oakland had a bye last week. Cleveland has one this week.

Jacksonville at Washington – The Jags came up short against the Colts last week. But remember, this team defeated Dallas and Pittsburgh already this year. Brunell broke a NFL record with 22 consecutive catches last week against the Texans. Even though this is a great accomplishment, none of those passes went past 5 yard. Should 22 dumper passes count? They will need to come out with the same energy they had in Houston if they want to beat the Jags.

New England at Cincinnati – Even with Chad’s trash-talking, I think Cincy has a chance to beat up on the Pats. Brady continues to get his numbers every week, but the Pats need some serious help. Their leading rusher, Maroney, had 18 yards on 12 attempts. They will need help from ex-Bengal Dillon to get anywhere close to beating Cincy.

Seattle at Chicago – Two great defenses. Yet, only one team can win. With Seattle’s tight ends injured, they have adopted a 4 wide formation with Alexander in the backfield. This completely demolished the Giants last week. Unfortunately, Alexander is out with an injury also. Hasslebeck will need RB Morris to run just well enough to give him time to find his receivers. The defense will hold their own. Chicago had problems finding the endzone against Minnesota’s defense. It will be even harder to find it this week.

Green Bay at Philadelphia – The Packers had a shootout in their first win of the season last week. Favre had 340 yards with 3 touchdowns and no INTs. Can you believe it? Not one pick! Too bad their win streak ends at one. Westbrook went berserk on the Niners last week with 164 all-purpose yards and 3 TDs. The Packers defense is allowing too many points. Philly’s defense will keep the Packers at bay.

Bye week: Denver, N.Y Giants, Pittsburgh, and Tampa Bay

Game of the Week: Seattle at Chicago

Week 3 Picks: 8-6
