Week 1

INDIANAPOLIS AT NEW ENGLAND - Dungy vs. Belichick. James vs. Dillon. The Pats for some strange reason are the top seeded favorites to repeat as Super Bowl Champs. I'm not going that far yet, but I will pick them over the Colts in Week 1. Speaking of picks....let's see how many Peyton throws this game.
JACKSONVILLE AT BUFFALO - With RB McGahee being the most likely to start, look for the running game to come out strong this game against a depleted Jags defense. Even with releasing LB Gildon, the Bills still have a great D on paper. Maybe this year they wont have to stay on the field more than 35 minutes each game.
DETROIT AT CHICAGO - Look for big things from the Lions this year. A talented receiving core led by Harrington and backed up by a decent running game, should definitely put some butts in the seats this year. The Bears, on the other hand, seemed to have had a terrible off-season. With the loss of Booker, look for Gage to come up in the ranks as one of the Bears best receivers.
BALTIMORE AT CLEVELAND - GO BROWNS!!!! I don't have to tell you what this game means to each team. The Browns want revenge on Jamal Lewis for running all over their front 7 last year. Even "Neon" Deion won't be able to stop the Browns in their efforts this week. Nickel package?? Look for KW-2 to run through Mr. Primetime in the first quarter and put an end to his comeback in week 1. Note to Deion: Stick to commentating with those pretty suits and matching alligator shoes.
SAN DIEGO AT HOUSTON - UPSET OF THE WEEK! The Texans are up-and-coming team, offensively speaking that is. Their defense is a little suspect. This is all that the new "LT", Ladainian Tomlinson and the Chargers may need. This will be a low scoring game.
TENNESSEE AT MIAMI - Both teams lost their main RB during the summer. The only difference, Chris Brown is more than capable to take up the slack where Eddie George left off. RB Minor needs to play a major role if they want to control the tempo of this game. Dave Wannstedt thought his job was on the line last year, just wait until the Dolphins go 0-3.
SEATTLE AT NEW ORLEANS - This game is a toss up. Both teams are equally matched. When in doubt, go with defense. Seattle tends to play the KC Chiefs style of "just outscore your opponents" defense. Even with Cie Grant out for the season, this will be a tough defense to get past.
CINCINNATI AT NEW YORK JETS - Defense definitely wins this game. Marvin Lewis has this team believing they can actually win. Rudi will rush for 2 TDs. Curtis Martin is washed up. Pennington will have to carry this team this year.
OAKLAND AT PITTSBURGH - The Raiders went from being the team of has beens to being the team of leftovers. Signing Zereoue, Sapp, and Kerry Collins in the off-season proves this. Don't get me wrong, the Silver and Black has talent. It will take a time for them to gel. Besides the addition of Staley, the Steelers seem to have the same look as last year. Advantage: Black & Gold
ARIZONA AT ST. LOUIS - Dennis Green has his work cut out for him. A brokedown Emmitt/Hambrick running game, Boldin is out for the next 2 months, and they face the once "greatest show on turf" (arguably). X+ Y+Z= Disaster. Faulk is not necessarily a main factor in this game, but he will shine since the Cards need to double Holt and Bruce.
TAMPA BAY AT WASHINGTON - Gibbs who? Oh, that guy who can walk on water? Yeah, I've heard about him. From what I've seen so far, he seems to have turned the 'Skins around. The defense looks tenacious on almost every down. Gruden has been reunited with WR Tim Brown and RB Charlie Garner. He has also added Joey Galloway to possibly play opposite side of WR McCardell. It will not be enough to battle this re-energized Gregg Williams' defense.
DALLAS AT MINNESOTA - The Vikes defense will be tested against this Buckeye loaded offense which includes Terry Glenn and Eddie George. Keyshawn is known for making the big catches. Too bad Vinny is the one throwing the ball. On the other hand, Culpepper will test Dallas' secondary. I have to go with Tuna over Tice. This game may go down to the wire.
NEW YORK GIANTS AT PHILADELPHIA - Pick a number between 5-8. Any number you picked, you win! Oh, the question was... how many fingers on Kurt Warner's hands are functional on any given Sunday? This pickup was surely a charity case. But a necessary evil until Eli is ready to start. This should be an easy one for the Eagles.
ATLANTA AT SAN FRANCISCO - I'm not sure I agree with trying to restrict Vick to the pocket. Though Price, Finneran, and Jenkins should help Vick establish his air game. I don't think this game plan will work after Vick takes his fourth sack in the second quarter. SF lost some major players to free agency. T.O., Garcia, and Hearst just to name a few. Tim Rattay along with rookie WR Rashaun Woods and Barlow should have a good showing against the Dirty Birds.
KANSAS CITY AT DENVER - This game will boil down to who has the best defense. Since the Chiefs don't have a defense, I have to go with Denver. They have Ohio's own Kelly Herndon on one side and Champ Bailey on the other. I guess they'll take turns defending Gonzalez since KC doesn't have any legitimate receivers.
GREEN BAY AT CAROLINA - MNF!! Everyone has to love watching the Cheeseheads on Monday night. Too bad they'll lose their season opener to the Panthers. Even with both teams remaining mostly intact from last year, only one of them could afford to. Advantage: Panthers.

Game of the Week: Colts vs. Patriots & Browns vs. Ravens
